Early 1980's

Fresh out of technical school, Dan Plenzo identified a growing demand for computers in the workplace. Embracing his entrepreneurial spirit, he began purchasing and rebranding computers to sell to local businesses, pioneering the industry by combining hardware sales with maintenance contracts to support this emerging technology.

After his startup dissolved, Dan pivoted by using his trusted accounts to start a new company focused on the profitable maintenance and repair of computers. He implemented a retainer model with add-ons and later shifted to fixed pricing based on staffing or resolved tickets. As technology advanced, he expanded his offerings to include networking and support services.

Early 2000's

As business needs evolved, MDS added technical staffing services in 2000 to meet the demand for on-site data and network management. Leveraging industry expertise for staff augmentation, the company saw significant growth after acquiring AT&T as a client, subsequently attracting major corporations like Merrill Lynch, Bank of America, and Coach Leather.

The substantial profits generated from staffing large accounts played a crucial role in the development of MDS into a prominent Managed Service Provider. For over more than 30 years, MDS has leveraged its early financial success to reinvest in its capabilities and expand its service offerings. This strategic growth has allowed MDS to serve hundreds of satisfied clients, enhancing their IT infrastructure and potential.
